Dear Lord Jesus, we come to you with our tears, our fears, our anger and our anguish, our lament and our hopes.
Yet another school shooting seems too much for us to absorb, an evil too great to bear, loss of life too great a grief. We need your tears and your strength. That you wept outside the tomb of a beloved friend frees us to cry out and mourn, that you conquered his death with yours, enables us to hope and carry on.
We pray for the families who have suffered such a violence and the students who live in its aftermath. Bring your presence, Lord Jesus, by Your Spirit and through your people. Extend your tear wiping hand- reach into this tragedy with an even greater grace.
